Hidden Treasures

As one can imagine, a lot of changes have come to this over 400 year-old house. When the house was built there was no plumbing or electricity. Thank goodness we can enjoy these modern luxuries now!

Kamer01 was one of the first houses to be built in what is known as the “new canal belt.” Houses in those days were built with a wooden frame then filled in with brickwork. Both the ceiling and wall beams of the house are intended to be visible in all the rooms. Throughout the house you can also find Delft tiles, centuries-old wallpaper, and the original spiral staircase. We also have a collection of antique maps that illustrate how the city has grown over the years.
